What is Unassisted/Spiritual Midwifery Service?

Prenatal

During prenatal visit when educate you about your body, help prepare your body for your big day, and provide you with meal plans. We teach you self exam techniques, how to properly calculate contractions, belly mapping, how to track baby heart rate, and more. If requested we do refer clients who would like blood draws and ultrasounds to our referral sites only if client wishes. If clients do not wish we do not force and continue with family lead prenatal care. 

Labor and Delivery 

We arrive approximately 1-2 hours once called (typically only takes us 30 minutes). We like to be there from the start of labor till the end. We stay 6-8 hours after delivery (if a transfer is needed we stay with client until discharged or till after baby arrive). We help do baby first exams with family so that we can teach you everything you need to know about your little one and how to. We clean up house, make sure mom and baby is comfortable, and if needed cook a meal for family upon request. 

The Placenta

We do not cut umbilical cord until 2-3 hours after birth - to make sure baby receive all the necessary cord blood needed - or until cord stop pulsating. With this services any of your placenta needs are provided rather lotus birth or deciding to consume your placenta. 

Postpartum

We follow up with our clients 24 hours after delivery and again a week later. If families need us we come out sooner we do. During postpartum we focus on breastfeeding, mom healing, making sure baby is meeting milestones needed for newborn, and more!
